Is the ethnic cleansing of Gaza really something that could be done without hundreds of thousands of deaths? Would the countries of Europe and the ME accept a US territory (a Puerto Rico) on the Eastern Mediterranean Coast? Does the US really want such a possession?
In Israel today there are over 2M Arabs living integrated lives as part of Israeli society. It is not perfect but there are plenty of Arabs serving as judges, doctors, lawyers, nurses, police, etc in Israel. Some serve in the IDF. Israeli Arabs are Christian, Muslim and Druze. If they were ethnically cleansed from Israel how do you explain 2M Arab citizens? There is a significant history of ethnic cleansing in the Middle East. It's Arabs violently kicking out their Jewish population post 1948. Forced out with not much more than what they could carry. https://x.com/CherylWroteIt/status/1888897433603620887
Meanwhile, 5 generations after 1948 the Palestinians (aka Arabs) are still refugees in many Arab countries and lands... Ask why they are not re-settled?
We are talking about Gaza and Trump's proposed ethnic cleansing of Gaza. And why are the Palestinian refugees not in Palestine? There are many layers to the history here. Don't presume what people know and do not know.
Good questions. First it seems the Europeans are completely out of the discussion (as is the case with the Ukraine negotiation right now). There is limited appetite for a US permanent presence (certainly among the Trump base) but it could be a short-term engagement. Maybe give sovereignty to the Saudis or Gulf States and have the US as some sort of partner.

You think that would be tolerable to Egypt?
Egypt is the wild card right now. They will do a lot to avoid taking Gaza residents.
And they will not want a piece of land on their border controlled by Saudi Arabia.
