It has been a really nice summer so far this year on the west coast. Warm and sunny, maybe a bit too dry with the ever present risk of forest fires. This newsletter’s traffic has been going strong and growing despite people taking a break from online life and news consumption. So I really want to thank everyone for visiting, reading, subscribing and in particular those that recently took out a paid subscription. If you haven’t done that feel free to do so. Please also do hit the ‘like’ button or comment, I enjoy seeing some disagreement or challenges from you all as this project evolves. It may also be that I missed something that is relevant, so don’t be afraid to let me know if that’s the case.
One thing I keep hearing from everyone is that the instability and uncertainty that is currently enveloping the world is something no one has experienced before. The polarization we are witnessing takes us back to the darkest chapters of the 20th century and like then, it is a global phenomenon. So, I will do my best to stay on top of things, from politics to wars to the markets and of course a bit of tech from time to time. As for the summer, apart from a short business trip towards the end of July, I will be around enjoying the sun and beaches while keeping you updated. Make sure you do the same while the sun is out and the water is relatively warm: both breathe life and energy into us.
I so enjoy reading your updates Pieter! Brilliant synopses.
Thank you for all the valuable info you share. I truly enjoy you wide perspective!
