For me the revelation was how much of this was about money and power rather than sex. Take the sex out and this is still a condemnation of the opaque ways in which power works in modern democracies.

Brilliant framing of the institutional damage here. The staged release strategy is particularly insidious becuase it keeps the scandal in headlines just long enough to breed cynicism without ever reaching catharsis. I saw this play out ina corporate context where drip-fed misconduct reports destroyed morale faster than one big disclosure ever could.

Is the DOJ trying to limit damage by the slow release. I agree, rip the bandaid off.

My response is kinda late, but I picked up an interesting piece that I didn’t want you missing out on related to Epstein. I just listened to a 2 1/2 hour long joe rogan podcast with mike benz.

Not sure if you know who Mike Benz is, but he does really deep dives into the world of what we should call covert government. He alleges there are striking similarities between “ the world of Epstein” and the covert operations of the CIA. Take a listen for yourself.

One of the takeaways could be that his dark network is actually a state sponsored or protected entity to run US interest around the globe. Doesn’t necessarily make it morally better, but it puts it in a different perspective.

The cameras malfunctioned and his guards had fallen asleep. Right.
